Are you prepared to pay for your own medical insurance? Have you given thought about disability? What if you become ill? Who keeps your business going then? Will you have to pay extra for this? Have you added in ALL of your overhead? Can you afford a lawyer if you need one without losing your business? I would say that if you don't at least have 3 years of income saved away somewhere then you probably shouldn't do it. There is a lot of problems with businesses these days. Maybe you should go part time instead of quitting altogether. If youre company shows loses do you have the backing to keep it afloat? Just a few things to consider.

If I made enough to pay bills and eat and have some fun money and was able to squirrel a little away I would go for it. Or try a leave of absense for 6 months to give it a try.
