A lot of the smaller community banks have shown more responsibility to their local communities. They are not so large that they lose site of their customers. With the next level up, a lot of the regional banks like PNC Bank have been decent as well. But keep in mind, all banks are in business to make profit. So you need take responsibility and keep on top of your finances.

I live in Cleveland, and I have an account at US Bank. They have branches all around the country. They may even have branches in Dallas. If they do, it'd be worth checking into. I'm happy with their service, and their many locations nationwide.

I've been with Compass Bank since 1992 and have been very pleased. I also chose them as the bank for my small business. Whatever bank you choose, I'd recommend getting to know the branch manager and at least one good teller. Many times they have gone "above and beyond" for me since they knew who I was and knew my banking patterns.
