we have heard acronyms like casting couch, what does it mean? any favours ? is it related to sex or forced sex ? or favours ?

Interviews of candidates for a show used to be done on a couch, hence the term casting couch. But somehow, as time went and as new actresses get desperate and were willing to sleep with the producer or director to get the part, the term became linked to sex being offered for favours in return.

It refers to an old Hollywood practice. seedy directors/producers would have a "casting call" (auditions) for a role. Some naive young girl would come in wanting to be the next big star, and when the producer/director tells her to let him have his way and she will get the part, they would do it on the couch (and the girl would probably not get the part, just have her hopes dashed and possibly an std.)
