Ok so i just started my first job at Dominos Pizza and i kind of hate it should i quit? I mean i will give it at least 3 weeks because i am not in school right now but will start on monday. What, if any, is the right amount of time to wait before quitting? How long do you think i should wait? I know it's just y first day and i am just probably not used to the enviroment but i felt kind of akward since im the new shy girl there. I also have no real need to work and for my mom it would be best if i didnt-she cried!
Please give me advice!

Quit this job now, and you will find yourself lacking for confidence next time. Stick out the job for a while, get a feel for it. THis is just first-day jitters. Imagine if you'd quit kindergarten on the first day!
Don't stop growing up because your mom cries... it's an inevitable fact of life, and if you resist it, you'll never be your own person... you'll spend your life catering to her wishes.

You don't even know people's names yet. Why did you take it if you want to quit already? Did you think everybody was gonna stop working and sit down with you and chat? It's called work cause that's what they want from you. You WORK they PAY. SEE? That is not fair to the employer. You should take some responsibility and work for a while. Once you get a paycheck you will like that feeling. First days are always hard. Whenever I took a job I wouldn't warm up for at least 2 weeks. If it happened sooner I was happy. But in 2 weeks pretty much what's gonna happen does. You'll have been thru the slow times and the rough ones. Wait till you see the people you meet. It's great if you let it be. But if you're gonna be negative about it then by all means leave. No sense in dragging the crew down with you and wasting their time.

You really don't need to give three week's notice. I've heard of Vice Presidents in Fortune 500 corporations giving less notice than that. I'm sure one or two weeks should be sufficient, but they may just kick you out before that time comes.
Considering you're the new shy girl, you should probably stick around longer and become comfortable with working and how to deal with others in a work environment. This way when you get a job that you like a bit better, you would have had some experience that could help you.

Get some of the experience you're looking for. Talk to other people on the job. Ask questions. Try it. You need to take steps like this in your life - even if you hate it, you'll have the experience to know why and you'll be one step closer to knowing the type of job you want to find in the future.
Most jobs can teach you a great deal about how to work with & deal with people. These are skills you really don't learn in school or at home as well as you can on the job. They are critical in developing professional level judgement and decision making skills that will help you in any career.
I started out in Burger King. I didn't like it either. But, I learned things about myself and the type of career I wanted in the future. Give it a shot - see what happens!

my suggestion, keep with it. I worked my first job at KFC for 6 months, and I'm a very quiet girl myself. It took a while for me to get used to the environment, but after a while I started making friends with my co-workers, and I was disappointed that I had to quit because I was moving out of town. I think that you will find out in time that the people are all really fun, and I'll never forget the late night cleaning jokes, the regulars, etc. Plus, experience looks good on resumes later on.

Give it a couple of weeks. It always sucks being the new person, but you might hit it off with some people. If after 2 or 3 weeks you still hate it, put your two weeks notice in and finish up.

There are so many jobs for young people. You should use this time to explore what types of jobs you like. Lots of employers love hiring young people because they're a clean slate and teachable.

Don't quit until you have found another job more to your liking. I looks better on a resume if you are imployed while you are looking for another job. Job stability is extremely important in building employment experience.

If you don't really want the job just tell your boss. I am sure domino's will be able to cope. Besides if you don't need to work don't. You be able to work LOT, later in life.
