my baby is 7 months and he is already been sick a couple of times. REcently he is down with sore throat, flu, cough and fever and not eating well. The doctor told us not to keep feeding him with the medincine but rather the natural process. But as a worried parent, I would like to explore any natural remedy such as vegetables or fruits that he can take to get well soon.

I know it's hard when your kids are sick, especially when they're that little. It makes you feel helpless because it seems like there's so little you can do for them. I'm sorry.

The best thing to do for a sick infant is to make sure he's getting plenty of fluids and give him a warm bath at night to help with the congestion and to help him rest better. A few drops of peppermint or eucalyptus oil in his bath will help open his breathing passages, too. Just hang in there and watch his temperature. If it gets up too high, then a cooler bath will bring it down somewhat. He should be feeling better in a couple days. Best of luck.

I would say first keep him well hydrated and breastfeed if you have been. Give him a variety of fresh veggies and fruits, steamed then pureed. At 7 months I started giving my child meat and once she had all the veggies (in the soup), I would make her her own "chicken soup" with pureed chicken and veggies, no spices or additives and serve at room temperature.

Keep an eye on keeping him warm but not too hot (thin layers you can take off and put on easily) or away from extreme temperature changes. Although babies adjust better than adults...

Also, does he have a lot of people around him? Make sure you all are washing hands regularly instead of passing around a lot of germs. It's easy to forget, but I would not be paranoid about it ether, just cautious.

Hi, sorry to hear about your little one being sick.. I've been told by Dr.s in the past that eating is not important when the child is sick as long as they are drinking.. if your baby doesn't want to eat, I wouldnt force him, but make sure he is drinking, give him his favourite juices, try pedialite. I would use tylenol for babies or tempra to keep the fever down, and make sure if he gets a high fever to take him to your local emergency department. Maybe you need a second opinion. If you are worried about your baby, then you know what's best for him, if you need to take him to the hospital for a second opinion, then don't feel guilty about it. If you want you could try going to your local health food store and see if they know any naturopathic remedies. Good Luck :)

hypersensitivity is a stable theory, as reported above. yet maybe an infection of a few style. a great number of well being care expert's are hesitant to offer antibiotics because of the fact the physique can boost proof against them, particularly while the an toddler is in contact. See as many docs as you could, get out of the rut you're caught in via seeing multiples because of the fact certainly one of them is definite to help. i'm sorry it is occurring, it would desire to be poor, yet you will pull by way of. Ask some docs approximately infections, and getting prescribed antibiotics to kill the infectious trojan horse.

Lots of water with a little apple juice to keep him hydrated. Breast milk can make congestion worse (milk product)
Vapor bath with menthol to clear him up.
Menthol plug-ins in his room at night.
Vitamin C helps to strengthen his immune system.(carrots)
Eating broccoli several times a week will strengthen his lungs.
Soy products have high amounts of Protein and Vitamin B complexes that will strengthen his immune system too.

Avoid milk, cheese and yogurt when he's congested, sugary stuff and deserts, and avoid anything crunchy or chewy when his throat is soar- mushy is best

Try the "BRAT" diet when he is congested or has the stomach flu:

B- bananas
R- rice cereal
A- apple sauce (too much apple juice will actually make him worse)
T- toast

Try natural herbs like the indians did. My cousin who has two kids never uses medicine from a doctor and believes natural herbs are better.

Try to let the fever break on it's own and give him breastmilk still if you are nursing. If you are not nursing maybe you would consider relactating and giving him pumped breastmilk?
