I need help with a word on a crossword puzzle?

the theme of the crossword is biology, with words like hydrolysis and monomers, polymers, macromolecules. stuff like that. any way the has 7 letters and i KNOW that the 5 letter is an "L" the clue is

"the first protein to have it's amino acid sequence determined"
