I'm going to tutor soon, but i have to choose to tutor either a child from the kindergarten to 2nd grade age group or from the 3rd grade to 5th grade age group. I'm not sure what to choose.

It really depends, most (and I say most ) kindergarteners- 2nd graders have shorter attention spans then those in 3rd grade on up.

It depends what you are tutoring them in also
If its something they have never learned of ( maybe a language?) I would probably recomend the younger age group because remember the saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"? its easier to teach a major new subject (again, I'm generalizing) to a younger child. But if you are Building on to old knowledge (such as Math, English, or Science) or something that takes a lot of fine motor skills(art, playing an instrument, ), you might be better off with an older child

They are both fun to work with!
Good luck

hoped i helped

Frankly, it all depends on the child's motivation, not on the child's age.
