Does it mean everybody should have the same amount of money? Same car? Same size house? Same number of kids? WHAT?

Equality is a difficult concept for many to grasp, so don't feel alone. No, none of that which you mentioned brings equality; it brings social status. True equality means that everyone has the same chance in life to follow their dreams, to succeed in life, and to be accepted.

it just means that everyone should be looked upon as equals and given the same rights no one should be superior to another because of skin color

It means to not be judged based on your race. It means people should ignore race in regards to law, employment, salary, everything!
