I have my doubts. Do you have a disinterested source?

What is your exact point?

Even the Iraqi Interior Ministry blames the vast majority of Iraqi civilian deaths on terrorists.

Car bombings, road side bombs, suicide bombers and out right murder - let alone the deaths resulting from the sectarian violence.

And who the hell can separate the truly "innocent" civilian death toll from the terrorist "civilian" death toll?
We aren't fighting a uniformed and centralized military force. We're fighting a demented ideology who uses tactics of indiscriminate murder and terror - and then cowers behind the cloak of "innocent civilian."

It is this enemy you should be concerned with rather than alluding to our occupation as the cause. What do you truly think would take place if we abandoned the people of Iraq?

Actually, statistics from a study by Johns Hopkins released sometime after the summer of 2006 showed that 654,965 (with a range of 392,979 to 942,636) Iraqis were killed during the U.S. occupation. Saddam persecuted practically anyone who wasn't a Sunni Ba'athist party member. He didn't just kill hundreds of thousands of people, he tortured many more, he gassed many more, and he oppressed everyone's right to have an opposing opinion, whether or not the person posed a threat to him. He, like Hitler, became increasingly paranoid of the people he ruled over. He consolidated his power by eliminating any and all potential rivals, and filling his party and government offices with people he personally trusted, like his family.
Now, go invest your time in some history. It's embarrassing when people don't know what happened in the world before they were 15 years old.

@ JBean B: stop generalizing everyone who has a different opinion, or has a lack of knowledge, as a liberal.

That's actually not true. Get your facts from an unbiased source, you freaking idiot. By the way, you think anyone kept tabs on how many people "went missing" under Saddam. You guys are all freaking idiots. Like I told the last conspiracy theorist, go get a girlfriend. You're a relativist fool.

That is a lie. Are you aware 50,000 die in the US in car crashes annually. Saddam gassed 180,000 of his own people. Those who have died were either the enemy or killed by the enemy. only a fool would think like you do. Saddam caused 1.5 million to die in the Iran Iraq war. All tolled about 2 million dead because of Saddam. Our troops killed very few innocent people. check out how many civilians were killed in other wars.

We are not killing them their own muslims neighbors are doing the killing!! Both of the muslims groups want to be in power! It's amazing what people would do for power!
The western blood that's is being shed will not be in power in Iraq when all is said and done.

i think i do agree with you there.. but many will not agree with you because internet and yahoo is conquered by the west.. people will say what they see.. because they don't have to confront it.

Many Iraqi people died when Saddam rule but it takes 20 years. Many Iraqi people died the same quantity when US invade without PBB approvals in just 2 years.

the bombers are one of the causes. But US came to restore order rite? so where's the order? the bombers suddenly appear in Iraq when the big bully invade..

argh!! it's just the same.. Saddam kill for his country.. US army kill for what? or getting killed for what? Just go defend your own country!!

Its a very tough Q..., u have asked.
No direct answer - only that Politics is dirty, and it drives everything.
But the figure of Iraqis killed under former dictator is much higher - although the two figures are not complementing each other...
