I also have a 6 month old (and she just started solids too). I breast feed her so I can't say how many ounces she gets but she eats the same amount of time but shorter lengths. This could be because of the solids or probably more likely teething or being nosey haha! Every noise my little one hears she poops off the breast and has to investigate haha! The docs say that if they are gaining weight and seem happy there are no problems...
Good Luck
Nikki :)

Think about this she is used to feeling her stomach up with formula not that solid food is being introduced is is feeling her stomach up. This is not a problem at all. It is perfectly normal. I would give her at least a couple ounces of juice a day that way she doesn't get backed up.

This is fine. She is not needing as much of the formula anymore. She is filling up on the solids. She is fine if she is getting close to 20 ounces a day. 18 seems good. As ling as she is healthy, don't worry about it.

Actually this is not considered a feeding problem at all. You are doing just fine. This is natural, esp. if she is getting a pureed protein (chicken, beef, liver.) She will then only take as much formula as she needs bc she is receiving the majority of her vitamins and nutritian from the pureed food. Just remember to keep her on pureed foods till she has at least 4 back teeth to properly grind and chew her foods. Many parents begin 'finger foods' before they have back teeth which for many babies don't come in till they are around 15 - 18 mo. old. It sounds like your baby is thriving and happy, so keep doing a find job.

When they start with solids they will almost always reduce their intake of fluids. Their tiny stomachs can only hold so much food wether it's all liquid or a combination of solids and liquids. Don't worry your baby is probably more satisfied with solids so isn't as demanding for formula.

Once baby start on soild foos they will drink less milk that might due to the new changes. But that will change when she get use to it. But milk is still the main source of food for 6nths baby. I fed my girl porridge in the afternoon only when she is 6mths and only aliitle bit till she get use to it. But at night i still fed her milk. When she was 7 or 8 mths then i will fed her solid in afternoon and night. But she still get her night feed for milk.

It seems to me that the solid foods are replacing the formula, so I wouldn't really be worried. But you can always ask the dr.
