HELP with 1997 GMC seirra 1500?

truck wont shift into drive or any gear with the gear shift by the stearing wheel ..... it wont move or anything ...what could be the problem?

could it be to cold for it ?...it was -25F today

linkage may be bound up somehow, crawl under and take a look

You have a bind somewhere. Look at all the linkage under the truck, under the hood, close to the transmission. Make sure nothing is broke. If its okay, take apart the column and look for something broke.
