The best thing I found for teething is filling a pacifier with water. Do this by filling the sink and squeezing the pacifier and then letting it draw the water in. Then freeze it. It gives the baby the cold feeling without a huge mess and without worrying about frostbite on their gums. Make sure your baby has a bib though and that the water doesn't drip into their ears while sucking on the paci.

Teething rings were of little use with my son. Neither were the "tablets" you can buy. The things that seemed to work well were the Anbesol, and a frozen washcloth. Rubbing his gums with my finger seemed to help too, but that is not always a viable solution.
Take comfort in knowing it's temporary!!! :)

Baby Orajel
Infant Tylenol
Small piece of leather to chew on
Teething rings
Freezing teething rings
Un-opend popsicles
Wet wash cloth
My son like to chew on my cell phone. My doctor also suggested that i take childrens benadryl and rub a small amount on his gums every few hours.

Hope things work out!! :)

There are a number of over the counter methods you can use. Ambesol and the teething pills are most commonly used. As for me, I used to dip my finger tip into Blackberry brandy and rub it on my girls gums. I have done this with many kids, and it has no ill effects, as long as you are just rubbing it on. DO NOT have your child drink liquor...this is NOT what I am condoning. But a small amount of a stiff alcohol will sooth the inflamed gums.

I would wash my hands and take ice water and rub it on my dd gums, when he gets older you might try mini pancakes and Popsicles.....
My daughter didn't like anything traditional, like teething rings, wash clothes or anything... The fingers and pancake worked for us....
