I don't believe that there is anything natural about racism..I think it has to be taught.

To the people of America, the name America means, "The People!" And our way of life is "The Way of Life." Our culture is "The Culture" or our people.
In other words, we identify with the name that is the agreed upon name for the people that live in that area. So it follows that the Name Navajo means "The People" to the Navajo people.
This situations sets up the distinction between people, and other people have always been the problem in one way or another.
Being suspicious, blaming, threatening and being threatened by, and associated with the original name or the place where humans live, but it is the competition for scares resources that brings the people of an area into conflict with others who live there. And everyone feels violated by those barbarians over there.
Racism is just another way of saying, "Those people are foreigners and barbarians, and not to be trusted because they even look funny and smell funny."
Both sides think and fear the same way.

Humans are not naturally racists. Children playing on a playground will play with everybody and never think about the difference in race. It is not until the parents make the distinction that children begin to do the same.

First of all there probably is no real race on this planet except maybe the Mongolians and the Chinese. Just about everyone else has some mixed blood. So called racism may be genetic. Differences are to be feared and to be destroyed to preserve the species. The opposite effect can be seen (in my opinion) in women. Differences may be seen by them a strong point for their children. That can explain why you see more mixed marriage chosen by women even though the culture they live in may frown upon it.

Humans are only naturally racist if they are brought up racist. I know its the way they are raised it doesn't come naturally unless they are raised that way by there parents or by the people they are around.

Its just psycological. People want absolute control over their lives. A man feels that he can reasonably predict what another man of the same race is thinking. It is really confusing and unsettling when confronted with a mind that you don't feel you can predict the thought patterns of. People fear what they don't understand. When your a child your afraid of the dark. As you grow older you realize your not afraid of the dark your afraid of what MIGHT be in the dark. Ergo, you are afraid of the unknown. Prolonged intermingaling with different races and different genders in equal quantities is the most steadfast and expedient way to over come racial diveresity. EQUAL QUANTITIES. No minority or majority.

Because we feel comfortable with those who are like us Ie. social status, race, sex, national origin, religion, sexual preference, and political ideology to name a few...It doesn't make sense biologically to seek out an embrace differences unless there is direct benefit to do so. Thats why lambs don't hang out with wolves and dispite aggresive multicultural diversity people still hang out with other then their own kind...thats not just in race but in everything we do. Some people enjoy sports some enjoy mathematics...you don't find jocks hanging out with geeks much either,

Also everyone has certain prejustices....Many more blacks are in prison then whites by percentage. But there is also more Men then women in prison. Many Blacks score lower on IQ's world wide compared to Whites but Asians score higher in Math then whites. These are facts but we don't want to face them because it is politically incorrect to do so.

Police (both black and white officers) therefore prejudge situations such as 3 young black men walking around as more potentially criminal then 3 old white ladies doing the same thing.

These prejudgements based on race (racism) are important clues that although not always accurate could lend themselves to the police officer getting killed on the job if he or she ignores them or acts too politically correct.

The Police, INS and the FBI to name a few racially profile to keep us all safer...If there was a better way to do things they would but there isn't ..life is not always fair. Your very life can depend on...don't believe for a moment that the Airports just ignored the fact that all the 9-11 nuts were young, Arab males between 19-40 years of age. Mexican Drug cartles have been known to recruit white females with family like apperance to fool profilers at the border.

Another way of thinking about it is allmost all wars have been fought not because the people were alike but because they were different or diversified...be they religious wars or race wars...I am not advocating sepratism but noting that where ever people of different looks or beliefs have been forced together turmoil has erupted...You can't force harmony or bus it in.

Consider our Human biological nature....if you had a blue hat on and 100 people with blue hats came up to you and kissed you or handed you 20 bucks. and you had another 100 people with red hats who punched you or stole your 20$ How would you react to the 201st person??? Would you prejudge them based on the color of their hat. What if the 201st person had a red hat and he was really nice??? What if he had a blue hat and he was a real ******? We take in information from our 5 senses and we form opinions some right some wrong but none the less, predjuces help us formulate a game plan for survival...I would argue that it is a byproduct of evolution...that keeps us from getting burned from ignoring past experience or perceptions.

Its funny how some will argu that racism is learned behavor as if learning isn't a part of nature...they are inseprable. It doesn't matter if you you learn it from you parents of your own experiances...everyone prejudges...all are prejudice. Consider the non-prejudger who walks into the lions den right after his budy gets mauled..He tried to wipe the mental slate clean so to speak and pays dearly for it...Only those of our caveman ancestors who prejudged lions made it long enough to mate and pass on prejudgement to their offspring (us all)...Those who didn't took thier politically correct memes and genes with themselves to the grave.

You can disagree with me but you'd be just doing so based on the privious judgements that you have formulated....your prejudices. You just can't escape it...... were all prejudice....Its how you handle the truth that matters and what you do with it!!!!!

Well--90% of the process of learning consists simply of classification and categorization of observations. Racism, right or wrong, politically correct or no, is just a simple extension of that.

Because humans naturally gravitate toward similarity, and reject what is different.

The more evolved we become, the easier and more natural it becomes to accept the differences.
