Since 1996? They've changed, yes. At least here they have. The educational format hasn't really changed--hasn't really changed in probably many, many years--but the kids have. I see elementary kids today and they are not the same as when I was teaching in '96. The kids now are wearing teen-type clothing by grade 5, so many are focused on having cell phones or iPods or some other gadget, I can't BELIEVE the amount of money parents are paying on their girls' hair--and I can't believe the types of things that girls are having done to their hair in grades 4-6. The girls in particular are trying to look like teenagers, who in turn dress in a way that they feel is 'grown up'. *sigh*

Even though I was only 3 or 4 at the time, I remember that elementary was much better than it is now because back then kids thought the sand box was more important than getting a boyfriend or girlfriend, which was good back then for parents. But now small kids have gone from addorable/energetic child to dumb/romance wanting freak. (sorry those last few words were the only ones I could think of using for description).

yes. the kids in elementary are expose to more things than back in 96'. and some of the ducation change some what like every year 3 graders and up take the State Test well in NY they do.
