I would love to visit one day. I lived/helped at a Hurricane Katrina shelter for three months and got to know and love some of the evacuees. So I plan on going there one day. And maybe I'll visit you too!

once you return into the city (or in step with danger even earlier you return), detect a e book save and notice in case you will detect a sparkling Orleans eating place handbook. they are going to checklist each form of places inclusive of value tags. i will recommend Michaul's & Tipitina's, 2 places that function Cajun or Zydeco bands. On the two Bienville or Iberville, I overlook which, and between Bourbon and Royal, you will locate the Acme Oyster Bar. actual actual New Orleans form seafood and fairly smart. Acme additionally has a branch in Metairie only exterior the city. My spouse and that i devour there all the time. i like their Peacemaker po-boy with candy-potato french fries on the part (even with the indisputable fact that the candy potato fries fees slightly extra desirable). we've a intense homicide fee interior the section it is given over to drugs, yet it is extra to the east of the city. stay with crowds, excursion communities, or despite. yet truthfully do not ward off the city because of the fact of a few rumors approximately intense homicide fee. till you're a drugista, you're in all probability unlikely everywhere that could desire to be so very risky. places to pass to for the time of the day incorporate the Aquarium of the Americas the place Canal highway meets the river; Audubon Zoo, which may well be chanced on on the top of a streetcar experience and little jogging (or seize the riverboat from the Aquarium!). A city excursion map additionally will tutor you the D-Day Museum on Andrew Higgins Blvd., that's a significant portion of city background. ward off specific places because of the fact of value matters. ok-Paul's has great nutrients yet is overpriced. i don't locate any of the Brennan relatives's eating places to be nicely well worth the fee. John Besh has some stable eating places, yet lower back they are slightly expensive. while you're coming for Mardi Gras, take precautions because of the fact crowds attrack %.-wallet. (Sorry to declare...). additionally, do not take ANY bets from highway-clever little ones who'll swear they might inform you the place you acquire your footwear. while you're taking the wager, they are going to say "you acquire your footwear on your toes, fool - now pay up."

My daughter was there last March. She is 15 and made a trip down with a humanitarian group (raised the money to go by herself) and helped to gut 4 homes.
I'm glad you're ok! I know she would love to come down again for a visit instead of work.

I spent an entire day exploring New Orleans 10 years ago. I was traveling, but alone that day.
I'll always remember it as one of the best days of my life.
