x^2=21/3 (simplify)
x^2=7 (take the square root of both sides)
x=sqrt 7


2) -2x^2+1 = 0 (subtracting 1 from both sides)
-2x^2 = -1 (divide by -2)
x^2=1/2 (take the square root of both sides)
x= sqrt 1/2 (i dont know if this is good enough for you class, so i'll take it down further)
x= (sqrt 1)/(sqrt 2) (now you simplify)
x= (sqrt 2)/2


3) 16/15x^2-1 = 0 (add 1 to both sides)
16/15x^2 = 1 (multiply both sides by 15)
16x^2 = 15 (divide both sides by 16)
