Hypthetically speaking, let's say you have some time off work or school. Could you (or would you) do this? Where you watched all three movies nonstop? Obviously, you could take bathroom breaks in between.

Not only have I watched all the movies many times (including numerous "marathons"), I also like to read the books and have read the entire trilogy six times. The Hobbit about four times, Tolkien's biography, Unfinished Tales, Father Christmas Letters, and I started on the Silmarillion.

PS: Praying for a Hobbit movie.

I do it a couple of times a year, sometimes like when spring cleaning or when I bring brain dead work home like stuffing envelopes. (must brag, my name in on the last three that came out in August 2006). IF the weather were really, really bad and there was nothing else on TV I'd probably do it then too, but no chance of being snowed in living in LA.

I wish they would show it in the theaters again. When ROTK came out we saw the first two the day before, and ROTK at 2am, such a geek :)

Lord of the Rings (all three of the movies) is currently On Demand with Comcast....
I did this the other day. No matter how many times I've watched them, they're still good!

With the right conditions yes.

I would need:

A rainy day
A blanket and pillow
My comfy sofa
The heat on
and food and drink - lets say chocolate, popcorn and soda

I'd also require a babysitter for my kids and a fishing partner for my husband.

Hmmm, sounds like a plan is forming.........

Yep I have done it before as well. You have to start early though. : ) Have lunch after the first one, dinner after the second, and then head for bed after the last one. (And I am talking about the extended cut versions) ; )

Yes, because it is my favorite trilogy. I did that a couple of weekends ago, just make sure you have a bunch of snacks and nothing to do.
