Unfortunately, you can expect a lot of force-feeding of dogmatic ideologies which will be presented as truths to swallow, rather than theories to ponder. If you have any real interest in working with people, please, please, go into this class with eyes wide open and really ask yourself if what you are hearing is consistent with reality, and the way people really behave. Start by asking how it even applies to you, and never, ever be afraid to challenge what you are learning. If it sounds like BS, it probably is. Psychology, sadly, is inherently flawed because, as a discipline, it has yet to graduate from the stone age thinking which first spawned it. Therefore, before you accept any of what you hear, or read, look back to the roots of the ideas being presented. If you are savvy in cross-discipline studies, you'll quickly see that the foundation of what is being taught is completely out of date, which means, while it is well-intentioned, many of the core principles are grounded in original concepts long since proven to be in error. So, really, you can kind of picture it as taking a geography class that is being taught, still based on the premise of the world being flat -- and that tells you basically what to expect. A lot of arrogant presumption, but little established fact. Challenge it, come to understand it for yourself, and walk away knowing what you know because YOU know it, not because some book, or PhD, or wind-bag told you to believe it.

Do yourself a great big favor and drop the class. (By dropping the class you will be doing everyone else a great big favor too).
If you want to know all about psychology, go to the CCHR website and see all you need to know about the subject: psychology.
Sorry for being such an apparant d**k about the subject - just hoping to save you the time and money so you can do something better with your education.

You should expect to learn very early on that the letter "g" exists so as to be used, and not make us sound illiterate and lazy. You also may learn how to spell psychology.
