i was just reading what you wrote and yes they ,are at fault. i had $17,000 taken from my checking account by my own brother. i have the proof that he did do it but the banks excuse for dropping the charges against him was,"i took too long to file the charges." but see i was in a car accident and in a coma for 1 month 15 days. brother stole my checks and forged my name, what can i do about that?

I'm not Iraqisax but I may be able to answer your question. If your brother took $17,000 from you he is guilty of grand larceny (in most states). If he signed your name to checks he is guilty of the second charge of forgery. Now if the bank has covered your loss then they would in most cases be the victim on the larceny. If they didn't cover the loss than you are the victim and the bank has no say in that. The forgery is a separate issue all together. You don't need the Bank's permission to pursue those charges. Call your local police and have your brother arrested.
