They never showed the "reuniting" except to go back in time and tell the story in season 8 (probably the episode you are talking about). Rachel finds out she is pregnant right before Monica and Chandler's wedding. In fact, Phoebe thinks it is Monica, but then we find out it is Rachel. We don't find out who the father is until the episode with the red shirt plays in season 8.

"The one with the video tape" Rachel tells Ross joey's "have I ever told you about the time I went back-packing through western Europe? story" and seduces Ross. That was a good one
