If so, which one(s) do you think he has the best chance of winning?

I'd say he has an excellent chance at all of them except the French Open. What about you?

yes yes yes and yes, after the way andy played roger in their last match, i think he has a very good chance to win the Aussie, US, or (/and-would be nice) even Wimbledon. I am a huge Roddick fan and never miss a match, and when his serve is on... he is amazing, no one can break him. and Connors has helped him alot and he is playing with confindence. I would also love to see James Blake win as well (as well as Robby Ginepri and Mardy Fish), i hope the Americans can come up with the goods in the slams this year! US Tennis needs to start winning again!!

GO RODDICK!!!!

No, I don't think so. If an American is going to do it, it'll be Blake at either the US or Aussie Opens (Nadal & Federer you can almost already etch onto the other two, but are more beatable on the hardcourts- even though Federer has won on them). Blake's got all the tools to win one, he just has to cut down on one or two moments where he lets down and allows Federer to pull away in sets. He could have beat Federer in his US Open match except for a 2 minute spell in the 1st and 3rd sets.

Roddick I think is a little too one dimensional to get by a tourney having to beat Federer or Nadal. He's mostly serve & power and he hasn't put the small game together like Pete did. Blake can track down a lot more shots than Roddick.

Well from his form at the Australian Open he is certainly in the position of having the best chance he has had in a long time. His main problem though is that he doesn't have enough variety in his game as somebody else mentioned earlier. Back in the day his serve was lethal but most of the top players have now worked that out. Yeah, he's lost some weight and is pretty fast on the baseline now but compared to Nadal or Murray he has no chance. I really do like Roddick as a player, always have, but unless some of the top players are plagued by injury, i don't like his chances at a slam this year : ( On the upside though, i still think he might have a few tournaments in him.

I doubt it. I think the only American with a chance for a slam would be Blake and even that is a huge longshot. If Andy were to win, I think he'd do best at the US Open where he feeds off the crowds intensity. I want to believe Andy still has it in him - and that Connors can bring it out again.

No. He's such a talent and all around good kid, but he's got to make some changes to be a true Slam contender year-round. His game has not progressed and others are becoming acclimated to his pace and have found ways to exploit his weaknesses. When he first hit the tour, everyone was so in awe of his serve, that he won games through utter intimidation.

Connors is not the coach for him. He needs to find a coach that is proven in his coaching abilities, not his former playing abilities. Connors will make a good mentor to help him in his mental preperations, but I fear he's not going to be able to offer much beyond that.

He needs to continue to develop the slice backhand he's trying to implement. It gives him a good off-pace shot to counter his huge serve and forehand. He still stabs at the slice BH, but it is nice to see he's identified the fact he needs that shot. A good coach can perfect this shot for him in just a few hours.

He HAS to change his volley grips. Like so many western forehand hitters, he's very suspect at net. Watch him, anything hit to him below the level of the net, he is very fortunate to even return into play. Until he is able to hit his volleys with a continental grip, he's always going to struggle at net. By building on his volleys, he can hit more off-pace serves and follow them to net. Keeping his opponents even more off balance. Again, a good coach will express to him the importance of this change and be able to implement it for him.

If he implements more of his older brother John's game into his own game, he will greatly improve. I hated to see John get away from his coaching duties. He was an absolute bulldog on the court (pardon the pun since he played for Georgia!). VERY consistent guy that battled to the absolute END of every match!

I think Andy's best tennis is ahead of him. I just hope he can get the right tutelage. He's such a talent, and he has the ability to be a yearly Slam winner.

If he does win one and many people predict he will win one this year it will be the US open. In Shanghai last year he held 2 match points against Roger but failed to convert them and lost the match. So at the US open he is bound to give Roger a run for his money

Only if Jimmy Connors somehow transplants his personality into Roddick.

Without Federer competing, yes. With... almost no.

Sure, if TMF decides to skip all of the Slams to stay home and stare at his cow instead.
