Lord of the Rings, but I'd rather take a vacation in Narnia than Middle Earth.

Lord of the Rings and Narnia are for completely different audiences. Narnia is more for children (although all ages can enjoy it) and Lord of the Rings is more for adults or mature teenagers. Narnia is definately an easier read and is less challenging a piece to comprehend. Tolkien's work is detailed, which gets impatient people to call it "tedious". I find this detail to make the world that much more realistic and deserving of praise. The two really can't be related to one another except for their mutual inclusion in the Fantasy genre.

I would choose Lord of the Rings over Narnia for a read (Lord of the Rings is actually way shorter than the entire Narnia series, and more interesting). I can't choose for the movies, since I've never seen the Narnia film - but the old BBC ones were boring and terribly made.

Thanks for the question. It made me think.

I love the Lord of the Rings most, but I love them both. I think the Narnia books are better than the movie, but the movie was still well made.
