The U.S. is harmimg itself...along with the media.. It's not going to take a dead man to do it......There is only one weapon of mass destruction, he lives in the white house.

I would say it might
- Saddam was not tried like other war criminals (in an international court of justice), but was tried in Iraq by people who had known vendatta against him
- Saddam did have his followers who would be clearly unhappy with the way the entire process was handled. Tt may have been fair (but justice should not just be fair, it should appear to be so as well!). If anyone has seen the videos of the hanging, you would know what I mean!
- He was not allowed an asylum as has been offerred to a lot of other dictators from the 20th century
- Some people are also alleging that Saddam was killed to ensure that US support to Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war was something US is reluctant to bring to light
Frankly, I am as clueless on a hidden agenda as you are, but I think, people will talk about how this sounded like a hatchet job and since US is for better or worse already a party to the peace process in Iraq, US could have to bear the ramifications of this event
My 2 cents

Let's put this in perspective.
United States already has a lot of enemies, Saddam or no Saddam, Saddam followers will be more likely be fighting his executioner - the Shi'ites, for the time being. It only hurts the US that it adds one more group to its enemies list. The US supported Saddam all those years, supplying him money and weapons (including developing wmd) and now is applauding his execution when they themselves helped him becomes a dictator that he is.
There's gonna be hell in Iraq and I feel sorry for the US soldiers there.

Saddam was never harmed the US, he was even allied with them. Just think of all the help they got from the USA dueing the Iran-Iraq war. But now theres a lot of pissed of people out there who are most likely want to harm the western world for what the USA have done in Iraq

Saddam was tried and executed by the Iraqi government, not by the US.
He was kept in US custody till the end to protect him from being abused by Iraqi guards who hate him so much.

Well considering he was a butcher and murderer his death is celebrated by many in the US, Iraq, and abroad, including myself. There were no WMDs in Iraq like Bush said, but what's done is done. We opened Pandora's box and found the ugliness inside,,, so he had to be executed for his crimes against humanity.
Saddam is just a drop in the bucket, and there will always be many people who will hate the US for many reasons.

It might be because Saddam had a lot of faithful followers and I bet they are really angry right now and might attack the US. Hope not.

Saddam has never been a threat to the US. But, now that he's been executed by US' puppets, yeah, there's a lot of pissed off people who are planning an attack.

Yes. Everything that happens in Iraq hurts the US, and everything that Bush does hurts the US.
