One i did when i was younger was i took different brands of soda and tested which had the most carbonation over the biggest amount of time. Then i did a break down of everything and also talked about how the flavor may effect the carbonation of the drinks. Also, you can test how long it takes for soda to dissolve a piece of bone. Kinda sounds gross i know, but its a really interesting study. Just get pieces of bone from maybe a meal and make small, even portions and put them into different drinks and record the dissolving rate. Also, if you want to trying something else, you could get a bunch of different colored, same grade construction paper and cut out even swatches of it and put it onto a large board. Then, stick the board with all the colors on it out in the sun and see which color fades quickest and then explain why certain ones faded and why others didn't fade as quick. Hopefully these are helpful ideas. Good luck!

This may sound a little gross or morbid, but this is what I did many years ago in my own junior high science fair project. I went to the local butcher shop, and asked for a cow's heart. Yes, an actual cow's heart. I had the butcher cut it in half to show the insides of a heart. My science project was to demostrate how the blood flows through the various ventricles of the heart. I used labels and diagrams to illustrate the blood flow.

Just an idea.....

You can do something where you test products and see which one through several trials turns out to be the best one. Like for example testing coffee stains and the leading whitening toothpaste brands. I did that one in the 5th grade and won 2nd place in the science fair! Good luck.

well in grade 6 and 7 i both got honourable mentions for the "perpetual fountain" and comets. so i don't think that will do you any good. but my classmates got gold for doing the mouse and the maze. what they did was build a maze out of cardboard and plywood and bought a mice at a pet shop for under 7 bucks and some chesse slices and put them in the maze somehwere. the whole purpose of their project was sense and sensibility of mice and comparing it to human beings. it was pretty neat. good luck!
