in pokemon ruby what is the best way to catch a feebas?

there is no "best way" to catch a feebas.

in the area that feebas live, in ALL of the water squares (places you can surf and stand still on) only 6 of them have feebas

you need to fish at EVERY SINGLE ONE until you find one that has a feebas.

the places where they occur are randomly generated when you start your game file, and will change if you change the cool saying in dewford town

no two games have feebas in the same spot

when you find a square that does have feebas, it's like a 60% chance or something crazily high like that, that feebas will be there, no matter what fishing rod you use

what i did was i went to the bottom left, fished twice, and went all through the tiles to the right, fishing twice each time (just in case the first time was the other 35% it was a magikarp)

then i surfed, and went to the first place i fished, and fished one spot north of that, twice, then to the right of that, etc..

it really didn't take long til i found it, there's only like 190 tiles or something and i think i found it after fishing like 80 or 90 times

There is no best way to catch Feebas. All you can do is keep fishing all the water tiles to find the 6 that have Feebas.
