yes I do believe that there are people that have a huge whole in their hearts that refuse to let any kind of emotion in their heart. I do believe that if they meet the right person that touches their soul they could change.

We all have or have had an emptiness within us in our lifetime. First people must want to fill any empty spaces and then make the decision to follow thru. Of course we all know that by placing ourselves in the company of successful and positive people can change our attitude in order for a healing to take place. A healing of any kind is possible if the right mentalities are applied.

Yes.
However, these people would be few and far between. They would have a physical anomaly in their brain that would cause this feeling that could not be repaired medically. This problem thus would be beyond the reach of psychology.
For the vast majority of people, counselling, drugs (or a combination of both) and time can resolve these feelings. If a feeling like this is experienced by anyone for more than a short period of time, it is a sign to go seek help. No man is an island.
Peace

I'm of the opinion that no matter how big the hole is it has to have a source and once the source is exposed the hole can start to be closed. It may take time, a specific person, a change of season but change will happen if it needs to.

I believe that to fill up the big hole inside, you have to walk throught the void , not dance around the void . Feel the pain , not distract yourself from it . And be grateful that you are in pain. It mean you still got a change, and that God Loved you. Only none humans feel no pain. Pain is pathway to growth and fullfilment . With no growth , we will never reach a promised land . and in the dark world we live in with all the pain , homelessness, diseases, how can we go without pain!

Yes I do. I think these people are the ones who are so discouraged with the status quo that they will do anything to get to someplace else. These are the people with the real courage. Anyplace is better than where they are now. They can't see any hope and are not afraid to change no matter what. No fear of the unknown because any place is better than where they are now.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you could be describing someone who is with serious/clinical depression. If s/he were to die with that chronic illness (god forbid), that hole within them might never be filled, nor healed.
Also, this hole could be a constant yearning for an ideal that can never be fulfilled.

Definitely not! With God al things are possible. No matter what the situation, God can get you through and make you whole. He can heal the broken hearted and mend the wounded soul, something no one else is capable of. When you live for him, you are whole. A true follower has no emptiness.

Yes, I have been to the border of that dark place. Thankfully I found a way back before it was too late and my depression went too far. Hope this helps
