Are you using a liquid type or pencil type? IWhen I started to line my eyes I started with a very popinty eyeshadow sponge and used eyeshadow! Until I got the hang of it then I went to pencils and I only line my lower eyes and I do it under the lashes not on the actual rim of the eye-to much a chance for infections! I now use liquids and I just bought a new gel type from avon that I like- but try the eye shadow thing till you get the hang of it! It helps give you the steady hand you need without poking your eye to badly! Have Fun!

For liquid eyeliner, it takes a steady hand and practice running it over the lid right above the eyelashes.
For the bottom, it's best to apply the eyeliner beneath the lashes under the waterline, but I always apply it on the waterline which is on the bottom above the bottom lashes. If so, pull the bottom lid out and apply.
best of luck.

ok, i'm so happy you're asking this! I supply you lots credit whilst utilising pencil eyeliner. you will desire to loosen up first. Take the pencil on your LASH LINE. it quite is the place your lashes meet the exterior on your eye lid. So, very on the factor of your eye lashes. of direction, close the attention you would be using the attention liner on. it is rather ordinary after that. purely make an incredible clean line in case you may, and if it quite is too no longer person-friendly, then slowly make a line. despite if that mean combating for a 2d and re positioning the pencil. it quite is how I do it each and every morning. i individually wish I helped! reliable success, and that i understand you're probable an quite rather lady, make up or no make up. Shine on! And returned, reliable success!

I do it the wrong way. I use the pencil and heat it with a lighter. I place it on the top of my bottom lid and the slight outter edge and 1/3 of the top of the top lashes.
They say that top of the bottom lid thing is bad- but after all these years I have never has a problem with it.

Carefully, ...right ont opof your top eyelashes almost directly on them, and the bottom I like to put right above, almost on the pinkish part of my eye. You should go to a makeup artist though so you don't look like a total pyscho when you are done! Is it your first time?

I just do a dark line right under and right above the eye, just a thin line around the lashes. It's not the way everyone does it, but oh well.

there are different ways, but I usually apply it on the top of my lids, as close to my eyelashes as i can get. and then i run a q-tip over it to give it a softer look.
then i put it on my bottom lids (not the inner part, but you can if you want a darker look), and i smudge it again with a q-tip.
this may help if you're having trouble..

you just need to open ur eyes with ur index finger on the upper eye lash and your thumb on the lower eye lash. After that then you look up and apply your favorite eyeliner (own your lower eye lash).
