Medusa who in Greek mythology, was the most famous of the three monstrous Gorgon sisters. she was once a beautiful woman , but she offended Athena-[A Goddess], who changed her hair into a nested crown of snakes and made her so hideous that all who looked upon her face were turned into stone. When Medusa was with child by Poseidon, Perseus came and sliced her head off. Perseus presented her head to Athena. Chrysaon and Pegasus sprang from her blood when she died. Medusa's head regain its awsome power even after her head was detached from her body and she became even more powerful.....

Well unlike christianity there is little to no hierarchy in greek mythology. Zeus, Hades and Poseidon were the strongest of the male gods, but for the females it's a bit hazy. Hera would probably be considered in the highest position of the goddess for her age and for being married to Zeus. Godesses like Diana (I can't think of the greek name right now) , Aphrodite, Athena and Persephone had a huge influence on people on earth but not as high a position in Olympus. Influence wise I'd say Athena and Aphrodite are on the top. Hera was definitely in the position of "queen" though.
