Except for the fact that he's dead... Edmund Burke. He was Statesman in the 1700s. He was known for his vast knowledge of political affairs, a glowing imagination, passionate sympathies, and an inexhaustible wealth of powerful and cultured expression. He didn't really care what others in his own party though, and he was passionate about his own beliefs.
