I think quilts are big hits. My aunt made a quilt for my niece when she was born, and my little niece loves the quilt.
Good quality handmade quilts are hard to come by because it takes a lot of time and dedication to make it, so if there's a chance to get one, I think most people would bid on it.
I saw go for it. Just put one up on Ebay and see how much you can make. If it's a bust, oh well, you can give to someone special. If it's a big hit, continue to make more and put it up for auction. There's no way to know unless you put it on the auction block.

I think you should give it a try. But I don't know how well quilts go on eBay. I have found that there are now SO MANY items on sale on eBay at any time that there are ALOT of auctions that just don't get any bids. So jump onto eBay and have a look at how the bidding goes for other people's quilts - if there are a consistent number of bids for the quilts on the site, then there is a market out there for quilts.
Cheers

That would depend on the quality of fabric used, the quality of work you can do and what a person likes. I too quilt and make all kinds of hand crafted items and I like to buy on ebay when I see something I really like but to be honest, they don't sell for what I think they are worth. Queen and King size sell for the best price, probably because less people make them that big but baby quilts also sell very well if they are cute, just not for as much money as you will feel they are worth for the work you put into them. Go to ebay and search for what you have in mind, see if the prices they are actually selling for are what you want to get for yours and make a judgement call. Also, remember that different times of the year things sell better/worse, right now with Christmas so close and people are broke you won't get much.

I would never buy a quilt of Ebay, because I want to see the quality of the fabric, the thickness of the quilt and how many stitches are to made per inch. It would be easier to sell them at an Arts and Craft Show.

I don't agree with you...seriously, if you go on Ebay-there are people that will buy anything. I love quilts and I am 29. I think that you should go ahead and try it. What do you have to lose? Good luck!

I think it is worth a try, but you might not be able to command the price that you require. Unfortunately stores abound with beautiful quilts that are made out of the country.(thanks to all of the out-sourcing of cheap labor today.) Consider what your time is worth and don't cut yourself short. I do wish you good luck.

Do a search of active and completed items and see if people are selling and more importantly if people are bidding. Also look at the final prices to see if it is worth it and what design/subject is selling best. Good luck!
