I never understand why people always get on about Nickelback being a bad band. At least they are a band, not some pretty boy dance group that gets labeled as such because one of them can strum a guitar. Personally, I don't mind them at all. I don't believe they write songs just to target people for sales by portraying an anger at the world in some sort of attempt just to get people to "identify with their lyrics". A song doesn't have to have "better rhymes" than another to make it good. Music is an expression, not a poetry contest. It makes no difference to me what the lead singer looks like, or the drummer or the bass player's sister's boyfriend's brother. Jeez. What matters is the music. All is part of the reason people say music was better back in the day, before the days of MTV and MuchMusic where people's first impressions of bands came from hearing them on a radio, not seeing faces and judging their music by their looks, which is a pretty baseless way to deem anything. I never understand why people feel it is necessary to validate what they listen to just by bashing other bands that they prefer not to listen to. I mean, if you don't like a band, just don't listen. No one forces you to I would not think. Just like it says on here, music falls under "entertainment", so let it be just that. I don't try to force my opinion upon someone else because I feel what I listen to is superior to their opinion on what they enjoy. Yes, there are bands which I feel can do more, and be more effective, whether it be by their sound, their lyrics, or their passion for the music itself. Too many bands "passion" in music comes from the drive for the dollar. Yeah, that is a real passion alright. "Lets market ourselves to whoever is most likely to buy into it" or "Lets create an image that people share" are their mottos. Through time, it can become clearer which bands do that. It is music, it is entertainment. If it does not entertain you, then just don't listen. I'm sure that if they are making music because of a passion they will continue to do so, not because their product sales or the fact they can still sell if they put their lead singer (or whoever is considered the eye candy, because whichever role they play in the band, that is who they like to figure most prominently on their stuff) on the front of what they put out.

Nickelback is extremely overrated. They've gone downhill. And really??? American Idiot the "best CD you've ever heard?" WOW...boooold statement there. Zeppelin isn't overrated. Have you really listened to them? And of course you really like that song being as it's more known to everyone. Take a real listen to them, but I doubt you'll change your opinion with the mentality that nickelback is the best ever. Even die-hard nickelback and green day fans would probably think you're quite a fool for making such bold statements. And forgive bands like Zeppelin and Floyd to pave the ways for bands like Green Day and Nickelback for even existing You're crazy!!! I'm gonna cook up some ramen now!

I like Nickelback, and I've seen lead singers that look much worse than theirs (and to the person who made the comment about his looks, you probably won't get far in life if you base everything off the way things appear). I really like their song called "Savin' Me."

Yes, they're terrible. I wrote better rhymes when I was at primary school. "I went to the beach for a fish. And then a genie gave me a wish. I ate a piece of bacon pie, and I got a toothpick in my eye." (These lyrics can be sung to the tune of any one of Nickelback's songs cos THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME!!)

At least they are making their own songs and not copying others songs from the past. That, is getting very boring. They get props from me just for taking the time to make their own songs and don't make huge money over a remake song.

I personally don't like Nickelback
I used to like one song, but then I saw the lead singer's face and from then on I didn't like them
No, I don't know why.
I don't think they're the worst band ever though, because their songs usually top the charts.
