I am in a commited gay relationship with a great guy. We have talked about adopting, I just wonder when is the right time. We both have great jobs and we both are level headed and goal oriented. Bringing a child into the relationship seems like a great idea, I just wonder when is the right time or is there?

whenever you feel you are both ready for the responbilities of caring for a child and financially capable of raising one. It sounds like the latter is already true and if you two have discussed it already, than you should go ahead and adopt if you want to! Just be warned: parenting is hard work

If you are financially capable and emotionally stable enough to raise a child then now is as good a time as any. Just remember it's a lot of work and the younger the kid the more time you are going to have to put in to raising it. Just know your limits and don't get in over your head.

You will know when the time is right. If you've both talked about it and are ready for the comittment and ready to give a lot of love to another human being, I say go for it! Good luck!

Same advice I've heard given to my (hetero) sister-in-law:
If you wait until the time is perfect, you'll never have kids. At some point you have ot just be ready.

I'm not sure on this but the emotional aspect of that child should be taken into account
