The owners son get booko money dump his work on me. Is there an ethical law in Ct that allows this to happen. It is independantly owned so I probably loose out. It is so irritating daily, knowing I do more work and hold more responsibilites than him. I have seen his pay stub on his desk..so I know.

Three options:

1 - Don't look at the $60/hr as what he's getting paid. Look at it as his allowance. Is the job worth $28/hr? If it's WORTH more, then ask for a raise. Leave the thought of the "son's paycheck" out of it - it'll only eat at you, and it needn't.

2 - Do start your own business - pay everyone what they're really worth. Some will complain that they can't buy food with what they're worth, but such is life.

3 - Go elsewhere and negotiate a better salary. Don't badmouth the old boss - it will not help you with the new boss.

This is called life. Life isn't always fair, so get used to it. You are complaining about only earning $28/hour? That's at least 3x minimum wage, and more than most people earn. As far as the company, the owner can pay whatever he wants. If you don't like it, quit and start your own company. If it were your boss, and I knew you had this information, I would probably fire you on the spot, since pay rates are usually considered private, and snooping is just wrong. It means you can't be trusted.

That question is pretty difficult to answer when you are on the outside looking in... how about you quit and start your own company making 60 an hr. email me and I will work for you for 28 an hour, and then I should be able to give you a more experience based answer :)
Jokes aside, considering you do all the work maybe you should really think about branching out on your own.

Fair - no. But the owner will give the money to his son one way or another - it almost more of a gift than an income.

I would assume at 28 an hour you are fairly smart, however logic should tell you that life is unfair 1001 different ways. Why is someone born in the US and someone is born in Cuba. Life is unfair at every angle!
