Well, I've been to Mykonos, and the truth is hotels and the general cost of the island can be high, but you can also find many deals that cost much less. The hotel I stayed at was called Mykonian K, and it was fairly cheap, and the hotel rooms were fine. Nothing luxurius, but they had the island feel to it, and they were fine(white, wtih balconies, blue doors, etc.)

That's if you actually plan on staying..
I went in late June, and it was extremely crowded! So many people, inluding locals, and hotel managers strongly advised us not to revisit during the months of July and August, because the island gets very crowded..So spring and fall would be a good time..
Boat rides to islands are extremely cheap. Mine for Mykonos was no more than 30 euros. I would say visiting might come cheaper than a cruise.
umm, hope it helps!

The idea of a cruise is nice, especially the 3-days one, which includes the most insteresting islands of the Aegean Sea + Kudashi in Turkey, however on a cruise ship you can relax, enjoy the sun and have fun, but you can not feel Greece.
On the other hand, if you want to visit Mykonos and/or Santorini, you have chosen the best time of the year; in Spring or Automn everything is functioning in the best way, but there are no crowds around and you can ravish the best of services on your own.
For package trips, you should consult your travel agent. They will provide you with many choices regarding your trip.
If you do not have a travel agent in your country, you could try either www.travelplan.gr or www.thesaurus.gr to get some ideas.
If you want more direct information, do not hesitate to call back.
Good luck!

Greece has become more and more expensive. They said some prices would rise but I'm not sure it will affect tourism. That would be kind of stupied since so much depends on tourism. But I'm not sure politicians (from north to south, from east to west) can understand such simple things. Now, since it's been spoken about Germany, Portugal has its own crisis and it contracted a very high debt so that they (we) could lend money to Greece. I think it's fair. But if the Greeks don't really change their situation and if we get to be paid less because our politicians are lending money they don't really have, I don't think that will be a cause of great satisfaction. Apart from that, my heart is with Greece (where I have lived and visited several times too) and I hope the corrupts and speculators will all be jailed for life in dark, moist places, full of rats anc cockroaches.

I just don't think you would really get the feel of Greece on a cruise....not able to visit the local tabernas, see the sites, visit the markets, breathe the life of a Greek if your a cruise ship
Flying there from states is much cheaper flying in the spring before June 14th.(sometimes as much as 800 usd cheaper)...August in Athens most businesses close down for vacations and head to islands
For past 2 summers I have gone northern Greece to Halkidi area and stayed in a small family run hotel....very friendly, close to beach and great food.....not expensive at all
