I used the soft side of scotchguard for a long time but nothing came off. Then I used the other side and the teflon coating came off.

Well, sounds like you're out of luck with your current pan(s) if you've already burned them and then scrubbed the coating off. In the future, always use oil (not cooking spray, which ruins teflon) when cooking food, and cook on low-medium to prevent scalding. Also add water to food more often to keep it moist and to keep it from burning in the pan. Then as soon as the pan is empty, run hot soapy water in it and let it soak a bit before you wash it (with a soft rag or sponge). It will be very easy to clean and you won't scrub off the coating. I learned this lesson after ruining several pans. Good luck!

I found it helpful to put water with dish soap (detergent) to boil in the teflon pan for a few minutes.

Throw away the old pan and buy a new one!

Get a better quality pan, and NEVER use high setting for heat. EVER!
