Yes, only Dell ink cartridges will fit and you have to order them online. Usually ship the next day though... have fun with that. It would be about the same price as buying a new printer at walmart that comes with ink.

um, ink is ink i have used the injection kind carefully for yrs. although you have to know what your doing, there are head cleaner liquids that come with kits. print pal source is good. I use ( yep) the dollar store or drug store ink injections kits but i do it according to package and then do a test sheet. However, some have built in microchips now and wont recognize that the cartridge is full again and the monitor will not tell the printer it is filled. I have had o problems but then again there are laser printers and special photo ink you can buy generic. So far epson and lexmark kinds I have and they do ok. who knows what dell printers have in them you can read about details in your manual but all of them will say don't use anyone elses.. like they will lose sales.. and now as I've stated some have built in micros to not take other ink. Such as that of DVDs not being able to be copied. same concept.

Dell wants you to have to order ink off their web site. If you got a cheap printer on the web from Dell you might be smarter to get another printer (Canon) with full ink and not have to pay shipping and have to wait for it to show up. Lexmark inks are very expensive. The printers are cheap and don't do as well and Canon!! They get you on the ink prices!!! Check out how much you get in the cartridges not just the final cost. Canon wins out all around!!

You can get third party cartridges from many sources, do a Google search for ink cartridges (see below) for many choices and price ranges. Best of Luck and God bless. Sincerely, Rick
