I have a few tips for you that i am passing on, because i also want to be a model/actor and am 13 years old. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME OR INFORMATON INTO SUPPOSEDLY GREAT ACTING AGENCIES THAT YOU FOUND BY GOOGLING. There are sleezy agencies out there that can prove to be very dangerous. If you want to start acting try out ford-black agencies they are country maybe even nation wide and are one of the top agencies. I am now just starting on my portfolio to send to them because i have done some mall fashion shows for them. If you are looking into modeling too i would look into them they are great.

Three things you should do:

1. Take every performance class that you can. School, summer camp, recreation centers... classes are all around you! If you can't find an acting class, take a dance class, or a music class. Besides refining your acting and maybe picking up some new skills, you'll get to know your instructors. Odds are, those instructors are involved in their respective businesses. They just might have some professional pointers for you.

2. Get yourself an agent. A reputable agent will have access to casting breakdowns that you won't be able to get for yourself, and they'll be able to get you in the door. How do you get an agent? Same way as anything else in show business: Preparation, research, submissions, phone calls, networking... there's a reason they call it "work"!

3. Stay in school, and do well. I know it might not be what you want to hear, but getting yourself a good education in a regular school (i.e., not on a set) really will help you become a better actor in the long run. Also, if you do well in school, you'll have your pick of college acting programs. You can end up exactly where you want to be, with a built-in alumni network that can help you. You just have to be patient and do the work. Again, I know it's not the answer you want, but it is SO much easier to be an adult actor with solid acting and business experience than it is to be a teenaged actor with few options.

If you were in India would have helped, but why don't you start with some serious theater, cos most of the great actors we know like Kevin Spacy, Kim Bassenger etc. are all from theater and have made their mark at Broad Way.

But just look out for theater openings to learn the fine skills of acting and get an edge over other actors. Just check out what we from our theater group do for a living here www.ivcorner.com/play.htm

Oh, well if you are in Florida I can't help, you. I live in Indiana and I am at Helen Wells Agency, for modeling, and they do commercials! Good Luck. I hate it when no one understands that it is your life passion!
