I used the Pepcid A/C (chewable). I only had to use one a day and I could eat anything. Before the Pepcid if I even looked at food wrong I got heartburn. It was so bad I didnt even want to eat. The Pepcid really worked and the doctor said it was ok. I would check with your doctor first though.

I have had the worst heartburn. Supposedly the same stuff for morning sickness will help...tea, crackers, etc. However, I have found that eating AND not eating both give me heartburn! I used to get heartburn from Italian food...now I have heartburn 24 hours a day with occasional spurts of relief from TUMS...which I take like candy. My Doctor DID give me...something else...a popular acid reflux prescription but it takes several weeks to take effect and you can't take TUMS while you are on it...in the end, I decided to stick with the tums. I am only awake right now because I have heartburn...from a hot dog I ate like 4 hours ago! GOod luck. According to my books and my doc the only thing that will really help is to deliver the baby! Only 1 and a half weeks left for me!!

Hummm.... that's not so good. First thing to try is to get the head of your bed up 6 inches. This will keep your stomach down at night. It's really important not to have this at night because it's also getting into your lungs. Next thing to do is think about the Atkins diet. That's cured more acid reflux than you'd imagine. Acid reflux is generally caused by allergy - you're allergic to what you're eating. The stomach is revolting. So the trick is to QUIT eating the junk that we're often offered as food in this country. Atkins can walk you through what to eat. You eat meat, eggs, cheese, nuts and green salad. It's plenty of good food. You leave out the grains - the bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cereal.... It will make a HUGE difference.

I suffer from stomach problems so imagine me now being pregnant. What help me the most is avoid anything that has lemon in it or is sour, this includes tomatoes... And stay away from greasy food. Each grilled and broiled food no baked in grease if you still feel the need to bake do this with spam. And my relief for heartburn is really simple TOASTED BREAD... its sounds so easy but it helps me all the time i put some cheese in it and it helps me everytime. I suffer from really bad stomach problems so i know the ins and outs so if you have more questions email me tha_cutest_princess@yahoo.com

the nexium takes too long to work. Im sure she wants immediate results.
besides a bottle of tums every 2 days for me -the only thing that works is drinking water and laying on my left side.
Im due in 20 days and the heartburn is really killer for me now.

if you just lay on your left side for a bit-it goes away almost immediately.

Just had my baby 2 weeks ago. I had terrible heartburn and the only thing that would help was baking soda and water. It is like the WORST tasting thing, but it worked and it worked quick. I know sounds really sick, but the 30 seconds of nastyness was worth it. Good luck...

Steer clear from alot of dairy and sauces and eat more bread. It seemed to help me and those are the two things the doctor told me to stay away from! Good luck because I know what you're going through and I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
