Is there a site where you can get a free laptop appraisel. I want to sell my Sony Vaio PCG-FX340 and was wondering what a fare value for it is. Or can anyone give me a RESONABLY ACCURATE assesment.

with a 15BG HDD & 256MB's RAM I would think your CPU is very slow. I dont want to price it but dont expect much. No offense.

SInce its a laptop, it is worth a little more than a regular computer would be just becuase they always are. But with the specs you provided, dont expect alot. It is probably very slow with 256 mb of ram, but the speed also depends on the processor. And a 15 gb hard drive wont store much.....It is a good thing that it has a cd burner though....i would say $200.00 at the cheapest and about $300 at the most.

It's only worth what you can get for it and a good place to check is eBay. I've been wanting a Vaio for some time and they tend to go quite high on eBay. I realize you probably paid 2000.00 plus possibly but I'd bet if it was listed the way that many good sellers do with all the factory specs and if it's not too old and has accessories i.e. extra batts,case,etc you'll get way over a thousand dollars. MSN site has a spot you can clik on (not possitive exactly where) where you enter your service tag number and it will tell you exactly how your unit was originally set up. I've also seen this done with some models on Google

This is assuming you have a 1 to 1.4ghz processor. Around 200 - $300 if you are lucky.
