Virtual Memory (VM) is only limited by the amount of hard drive space. VM is stored in what is known as a page file. It is most optimal to have enough RAM (physical memory) to minimize use of VM. You can increase and optimize your virtual memory using the following step. You can find the setting you want in step 1 and use the following if you want to optimize.
1. You can find vitual memory setting in the
Control Panel
System
Advanced Tab
Perfomance Settings
2. First Adjust Min and Max VM Size to 0 and click apply. Then Reboot your computer. This will remove the current page file.
3. Next run Disk Defragmenter. This is found in Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Deframenter.
4. After the Defrag is complete go back into VM settings (Step 1) and adjust Min to desired size. I recommend 1024MB or 1GB.

Windows will automatically adjust the virtual memory setting, but you can override it if you have room on your hard drive.
