I am a Christian, but I know what you are talking about. I think many churches don't think about what it feel like to walk in to a church for the first time. Most of the people are already friends with each other and are already busy talking to people they know. Thankfully there are some really friendly churches. I am grateful that I found one.

I don't know, but I used to work for a resturant and twice a year we catered for the biggest church in town (they even have a broadcast of their service every Sunday at 9 am) anyways their bill usually ran anywhere between 2 and 3 thousand dollars. It would take me (I drove a 4-door pontiac) and another guy who drove a pick-up two trips each to get all the food there. It was easily the biggest ticket we dealt with a year and that church never once tipped us a dime. I told my boss to charge a 15% fee like most places do w/ big parties like that but he was like "how can I its a church". I learned that some christian churches will undoubtedly receive and recieve from their respected communities but never give back a single penny. I always thought religion was designed to respect our fellow peoples but some churches sadly believe if your not in with them then your not in at all.

Because a person in the liquor store is more concerned with faults of himself/herself, while a person is church is concerned with the faults of others. The liquor store person has no desire to think of himself or herself as better than the next person, but most people in church are concerned with seeing their 'friend' show signs of being a hypocrite.

As a "christian" -- you seem to have an awful lot of experience with the liquor store scene--------------May be that you have more in common with these people than meets the eye !!!

Because the people at the liquor stores are happy. Unlike the church goers who are trying to be "holyer" than you. And the liquor is real, that is more than you can say for God.
