Hi,

Good question. It is primarily because we have a theo-idiot for a president.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any idea where you got such an idea. You may be listening to people who want to misinform you to advance a secular progressive agenda, or are just simply misinformed themselves. Iran is a theocracy, run by Islamic Mullahs. Vatican City is a theocracy. America was still a democratic republic the last time I checked, governed (however badly)by elected politicians. While most are nominally Christians, very few have made a major issue of it, or would dare to do so.

This is not a theocracy. Iran is run under a theocracy. We are a democratic republic moving toward Oligarchy.

Religion is a plague on the world and it is undermining freedom everywhere including America. In American, the Christian plague uses their religion as an excuse to oppress gays and religious minorities. It's truly sad. I have no doubt the some religious nut with a nuke will someday wipe out humanity and die believing he's doing "God's will."

A theocracy is when the holy scriptures of that religion are taken as law, and last time I checked, the US doesn't have a state religion, and does not follow the teachings of any holy scripture. So, I can't answer your question seeing as it isn't being run as a theocracy.

You completely do not understand what a theocracy is. Pres Bush, like many Americans believe in God. His religion offers him the basis for his beliefs. You are not required to belong to his religion. You are not forced to be preached at. No theocracy here.

Honsetly, because we let it be run this way. Americans have become way to ignorant/apathetic to politics, we are taught never to discuss politics or religion, we are taught that to question is to oppose. americans will wait in line for 17 hours to buy a playstation, but not 30 minutes to vote. no one cares about their government when they are fat and happy, and the republicans and democrats are just running away with it...

Just because you feel it does not make it true. Read the definition of theocracy.

The first recorded English use is in 1622, with the meaning "sacerdotal government under divine inspiration" (as in Biblical Israel before the rise of kings); the meaning "priestly or religious body wielding political and civil power"

"being run," not "ran."

There is no evidence of a theocracy, so don't get your panties in a knot. Instead of parroting what somebody tells you, keep your eyes open and learn about things like theocracy, democracy and the ideals that make our country great.

I agree with you. Both parties seem to think that religion is more important then human rights. The best thing you can do is seek out a third party, support them, do what you can to champaign for them. Either that or sit and wait until the bible becomes manditory reading.
