it was working perfectly fine until a few minutes ago.It will start up but wont go into gear. Could it be the security system?

As Jeff S was saying--maybe your tranny fluid. Some cars are designed not to engage if it's cold.

No, could be a number of things. Did you check tranny fluid? Probably low. Can't tell you much more for now without more info. I can tell you that it's not the security system. Good luck.

you mean the shifter wont move?
or it goes into drive but wont move
if shifter wont move push brake if that doesnt work the solenoid that pulls a metal rod out of a lock in your steering column isnt working. sucks sorry.
