Avoiding glasses won't make your vision worse but you will wind up with eye strain. Do NOT wear your mom's glasses. You could get an awful headache.
What are you afraid of? There are so many beautiful high fashion glasses these days. Some people buy them with clear glass just because they're so pretty. You could also get contact lenses if you don't want glasses or eventually have the minor surgery to correct your vision.
There's nothing to be frightened about.

Take it from experience, you need to tell you parents ASAP!!! I started wearing glasses long before you. I didn't wear them like I was supposed to and now I wear them all the time. Over the years I've learned to love them. Glasses have become very fashionable.
Don't even think of wearing your mom's old glasses!!! That is the worse thing you can do is to wear someone else's glasses. You don't know what her prescription is and could possibly do more harm than good.
As for school, teachers notice when students are having difficulty trying to see something. If you don't tell you parents yourself and do something about it, eventually, you'll be sent to the nurse and then she will make contact with you parents. Regardless, they will find out. Chances are, your vision may not be a bad as you think. Sometimes it may only be something as simple as eye drops that you will need.
I hope things work out for you.

One way to help is just to ask the teacher if you can sit in the front row of the classroom. Don't be scared to go to the eyedoctor. He will just make you read a bunch of letters in a row, and ask you which lens helps you to see better. From this, he is able to tell you if you need a weaker or a stronger prescription. Do not use your mom's old glasses. It will only make your vision worse.

Your vision will worsen, you have to tell your parents and do not by any means use your moms old glasses, they are old and was meant for her to wear them. I remember in my generation wearing glasses sort of image tabboo, now with different brands its become fashionable . The earlier you get your glasses the chances of your vision improving, but I am no "eye doctor" so you have to go and check your vision. Also you can wear contacts but you are much to young and thay are not for everyone, you have to take care of yourself. So good luck nearsighted teen, go get your glasses.

Why in the world are you scared??? You have no reason to be (unless your parents are wierd?). Believe me, the sooner you get fitted, the happier you will be. I've had glasses since the 3rd grade, and to this day (I'm 48 now), I still remember leaving the optometrist the first time and LOVING it. I could SEE!!! And later in life, if you have the funds, you can do the laser surgery and get a long-term fix. DON'T BE SCARED!!!

Tell your parents about your vision. It'll only get worse and become more painful (serious headaches). Your vision won't decrease a LOT, but it'll just become more and more of an annoyance the longer you wait. And, lucky for you, there's a lot of cute frames now!

you need to tell your parents as soon as possible! your vision can get worse if you wait, because your eyes will be so strained. and whatever you do, do NOT use your mom's glasses... that's also very bad for your eyes.
