I'm planning on buying one, but I don't know what to look for. Any suggestions or recommendations on model types are helpful. Also, I don't have the time to find a teacher so I've been learning on my own. I managed to teach myself how to read sheet music, but some of it is still confusing. Any pointers on learning on your own are appreciated ^_^

You'll want it to "feel" right, so make sure you try them out.

How much do you want to spend? I bought a Casio keyboard at Target for about $150., and it's very nice. I also have an acoustic piano.

Try to see if you have a program called "Scott, the Piano Guy" on television. He teaches many tricks so you don't have to learn too much about reading music. You only have to learn a few basic things.

I've wanted a piano since I was 8 years old, and I finally got one and had 5 lessons before Hurricane Katrina hit, and I haven't had the chance to resume my lessons, since my house still needs work and the piano is a mess. I need a new one. Still have the keyboard, though, since I bought it while we were in a FEMA trailer.

Anyway, try them out, and bring a C major fake book with you. This will have a few easy songs that you can try out in the store on the keyboards you look at.

Good luck.
