I live in New York City (Manhattan) and I looking to get into shape - but I want to be careful about finding the best program for myself.

I want to be able to create goals that keep me motivated as well as protect myself from getting hurt. Thank you for replies.

Men's Health Magazine - they are loaded with great ideas and even better, they publish a lot of their stuff directly onto the web

Check out your local YMCA..they offer a 12 week program just for people like you...and personal trainers too...all for a lot less than private health clubs/gyms....the Y's in california are all having open houses this Saturday with 100% off the joining fees..go online and check out your Y's to see if they are offering the same deal..good way to save $100+

I love Men's Health. My boyfriend gets it and I read it all the time. I am also a doctor and this mag has lots of great info

get a calander
put your weight and measurements

then jog and walk and diet everday
put stats on the calander weekly

get out and exercise instead of being on a computer or looking at magazines. duh
