to think a gift for a 16 years old is hard especially since we do not know her and neither the relationship you had with her. but She is not a child anymore yet not quite a woman so i would bought her a nice night dress take her to a nice restaurant and after food and a good talk give her a small silver pendant or earrings this if you are his father could be very nice for you would acknowledge we coming of age and if the talk is good the pendant will make her close to you.
if your are a boyfriend a good CD and book with some roses would be right.
gift certificates are good if you do not care to know her but if you want to say that she is important and that you appreciate her think what she likes and do and there is your answer.

You could get her clothes or jewelry or bath body works stuff. If she's someone special like neice, or daughter maybe; depending on how much money you have; you could rent her a limo like for an hour and invite her friends to go around town or something or take her to the mall in it. Its her coming of age party. 16 is supposed to be special. I had a Sweet 16 party. It was awesome. Make it cool for her. Sex things don't exactly have to play a key. She might still be a virgin.

Depends on what type of girl she is.
If she is a fashion girl- get a gift card to Hollister or Abercrombie.
If she is into music and games one to Best Buy or something like that.
Or Bath and Body is always a great choice too- no smelly thing that is way out there- just kind of neutral.

Sixteen year olds are a little peculiar. a good suggestion would be jewelry. Maybe her first pair of real diamond earrings or precious stone ring. If you are trying to give her a personal gift.
buy according to her personality.
If not, give her gift cards to her favorite stores so that she and her girlfriends can spend countless hours in the mall doing what they do best. giggling and shopping.

If I were 16 I would hope for a car, but if that's not possible, jewelry is always nice. Perfume, clothes, gift certificates.

if ur talkin expensive..then u should get here a necklace or braclet dat has "Happy Sweet 16 " on there or "Sweet 16" but if ur talkin cheap then mayb get here sum balloons and a big teddy bear and card....
