I don't think it'd be called "bleaching their skin to be darker" probably called tanning lotions and other stuff. I don't see the problem if you like lighter skin because it's your preference. It seems dark people are frowned upon for wanting lighter skin...but no one says anything about girls wanting a tan (besides it being unhealthy). But I do think its a prob. when you're hating your race and trying to change it.

NO!!! Definatelly not. Things like that will only make the hairs on your skin lighter, not ur skin.
Be happy with your skin colour. It's just a colour anyway.

Absolutely do not put bleach on your skin. There is a product called Dr. Palmer's Skin Whitener/Lightener, which works well. I have used it to lighten dark spots. You can find the product in grocery stores, walmart, etc. It is in the African American hair products section.

No, that will burn your skin! If you look in the aisle at your local supermarket that has african-american hair products, you will find skin lightening bleach. That is safe, but becareful...you don't want to end up looking like Michael Jackson!

You should read Laura Jefferson’s book "Skin Whitening At Home" ( I saw it's also available in electronic format +video: http://www.skinwhiteningathome.com ). After 8 weeks I managed to get my skin a few tones whiter and I also got rid of freckles.
The method she teaches in her book is natural, inexpensive, and is readily available in most homes. You could even find some ingredients in your own backyard. The most wonderful thing about the method she shares in her book is that it will help you whiten or lighten your skin pigmentations, freckles, age spots, acne marks, dark underarms, melasma, or your overall skin color easily and naturally without breaking your bank or producing dangerous side effects. Good Luck!

They have special creams for that. I wouldn't even try to go into that though. Making your skin lighter won't improve how you feel about yourself completely anyway.

I wouldn't do that. I have heard that Goths drink vinegar to make their skin lighter.
