hell yes.. beatles were a little too soft.. led zeppelin really made the blues fun to listen to, and not only that, but played folk, classical rock, and hard rock, sometimes even in the same song! there was and never will be a band like Led Zeppelin

While Zeppelin was a great metal band ... they were just a metal band. The Beatles were innovators. You can hear the band change as their song writing progressed. Every album was different from the one before it. They developed many previously unheard of recording techniques and actually opened the door for nearly every band that has followed their trailblazing path!

Listen to what's on the radio these days. There's still a lot of Zeppelin being played, but there's tons more Beatles music being played everywhere there's music. Look how much of the Beatles music has been covered by every variety of band and vocalist too! The list is nearly endless!

It's the Beatles ... hands down!

The Beatles were more a "pop music' "top 40" type band (i.e. "I Want to Hold Your Hand", "Please. Please Me"). They eventually gravitated to a more "Rock"sound. But I would even rate the Rolling Stones over the Beatles. "Jumping Jack Flash", "Satisfaction", Gimme Shelter"........that's rock n roll......not "I am the Walrus" or "Let it Be". The Beatles were popular basically because they were pop band. But Elvis had more #1 hits. The Beatles were the best song writers, no doubt. But Rock n Roll is about sound. And who had a better sound than Led Zeppelin. They were the definitive rock band. Who could sing like Robert Plant, who could play guitar like Jimmy Page, the drums like John Bonham. Instrumentally, Led Zeppelin blows the Beatles away. Writing a song like "Stairway to Heaven" is pure greatness. You can say the Beatles were the biggest band in the 60's and LZ the biggest band of the 70's. They were equally influential. We'll leave it at that.

i might say they're all as stable as eachother because of the fact they have been all majorly influencial bands and function offered 1000's of thousands and thousands of albums. I do desire Led Zeppelin and crimson Floyd because of the fact i'm greater of a harder rock individual, the beatles weren't as rock as them. i've got truly been stepping into crimson Floyd presently and am presently gaining expertise of desire You have been here on guitar! in spite of the fact that I do have faith that Led Zeppelin (internet site) and crimson Floyd's (Krieger) guitarists have been much greater efficient than any guitarist in heritage! Edit: Henbane - The doorways have been superb, yet how are you able to assert that stuff approximately the different 3 bands? The doorways weren't as stable, yet have been virtually there for my section. the different 3 have been much greater influential than the doorways too.

the Beatles brought rock and roll to the masses .Like one of the other answers said thier music progressed as thier songwriting did i mean compare i wanna hold your hand to thier latter music and u can see a huge change . ZEPPELIN is a whole different animal they took the music even farther out . each band stands out on thier own merits But both owe a debt of gratitude to the granfather of rock and roll CHUCK BERRY!!!

you cant compare the two. without the beatles, there would be no rock music as we know it, even ozzy osbourne's biggest influence is paul mccartney. zepplin helped branch off into more of a (what was then) alternative rock and roll sound, where as the beatles kinda started everything, and for that reason, id say the beatles

i dont think you can compare the two...they are both phenominal bands...The Beatles are more widely reknown and their music transcends genre...however, Led Zeppelin was genius for merging rock metal and blues and were able to form their own genre...in short they are both awesome
