IE comes standard but not Word, Excel or any of those. Windows XP only comes with the very basic work processing programs like word pad. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and all of those are part of Microsoft Office and must be purchased separately. The only exception is when you purchase a bundle package that may include Works but that's pretty much it. :)

Windows XP is the operating system. The others are programs you install.
So to answer the question, IE is part of Windows XP and no other "office" programs are included.
If your computer starts and runs then you already have Windows and you will need to purchase a "Office" suite. Just search for Microsoft Office and you'll get plenty of hits...

Win Xp: it comes with Internet Explorer, wordpad, Microsoft Paint, Windows Messenger. And outside of Europe, Windows Media Player. If it is original, you can download free programs from the Microsoft site, such Anti Spyware.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access are part of Microsoft Office; and you have to buy it.

No, in XP Pro, you get XP. The operating system, browser, notepad, and some games and utilities. Word, Excel and PowerPoint only come with Microsoft Office (Standard or Pro), which is sold independently of XP.

No. IE. Wordpad, notepad. Windows media player (which honestly doesn't play most videos). A calculator. That's pretty much it.
You can get most of what you need for free.

Most are free in that list. For example, instead of paying money for Microsoft Office, you can get OpenOffice.

The operating device doesnt have something extremely to do with what you get contained in the workplace equipment. As someone has rightly suggested, with professional variations, and this extremely is going for any piece of software, you get extra concepts that are geared in the route of what i might want to call the pro/organization/organization/extreme person yet for the common abode person, the abode differences are sufficient. inspite of the indisputable fact that, with connection with Microsoft workplace, in case you want to apply writer and get entry to, it truly is then recommended to get the pro version because the abode and student version does not include those 2 applications.
